An amazing sunset accompanied by some beautiful wind and clouds. I absolutely LOVE this time of the year when the monsoons decide to make themselves known. I wait for them. I love taking walks while the wind twirls all around me. The sunsets we get here this time of the year are unforgettable. We took a walk tonight and Larz took one look at what was going on up in the sky and just looked at it and smiled. I loved seeing that. What I saw tonight just took my breathe away. Sunsets are to be respected in a way. Every night is a new painting and I love watching ever movement until its finished. Sigh.

Crafting does not run in my blood.
So I just finished up with my editing for the wedding I did a couple of weeks ago. They needed 9 separate sets of disks for the wedding party. There are 3 disks in each set so thats ALOT of disks. I had to come up with something to make it cute when giving it all to the couple. So I went to michaels, (that store is my down fall and I never come out empty handed. ever. ) and got some hemp string and some stickers for 50cents. And this is what I came up with. I have a release form that needs to be given as well so I put it on the front with the little flower stickers holding it on. Is it trashy or cute? I'm no crafty susan thats for sure!

Truth to me.
Cut off from nature, we get sick inside. We lose our sense of belonging to the earth. This belonging fuels the core of energy inside us that sustains our activism. And when we lose that we lose drive and power. We are not able to be the tree that holds the leaning. The more we draw the earthly into our spirituality, the more responsive we become, and our responsiveness calls forth the responsiveness of others. --Sue Monk Kidd, in The Dance of the Dissident Daughter
I was blog surfing on some of the coolest blogs known to man. I came across this one in particular that just got better and better as I read. She is so much like me in her head. She had this on her page (quote above) and I couldn't agree more. My soul feeds on nature. It is strengthened each time I am around it. My want and desire for things fades into dust while standing in a river, dancing on a rock, hugging a tree, singing to flowers, etc. It is all so beautiful and alive! I completely connect with my inner core and focus on how magical my life is. It empowers me. I want to do better, be happier, and make others happy. There is no end to the relationship with nature and it's constant helping hand in your life. Take the time to free yourself in nature.

Can it be ANY hotter?
It's around 111 degrees outside. I can't do anything with Larz out there! We have a little pool outside under the patio and he loves it. I can't wait until this "blow dryer" turns off and we can play outside again. He is just too cute.

Museum
We decided to check out the Museum of Natural History in down town Mesa. It was so much fun. larz kept calling all the dino's "doggy" and the boys got some gold. It was a good way to beat the heat.

Obsessed
I am so obsessed with leaves sometimes I think I was a leaf in my past life. You can probably tell just by how many photos I take of them but honestly I can't help it. Sometimes I will just sit and stare at one single leaf for 20 minutes just studying its detail and beauty. I also LOVE fall. You would think we would be living somewhere that actually has trees to watch the leaves fall from. If I had it my way and could deal with the cold, I would live right smack dab between some huge maple trees, some aspins, cottonwoods for sure and an oak. And I could sit on my wrap around porch and sip on some tea while listening to the wind blow through all of them. sigh. what a wonderful dream. Maybe someday. Until then I guess I'll be going to visit my little friends whenever I can.

Family get away
On Fathers day we got out of town and went up to the mountains. We found this awesome place online called Bison Ranch near Heber. It was so cool! It was like a little town. There was a lake for fishing, horses, little stores, an actual bison, cabins, a mini river and more. I loved it. We went for a walk in the morning and it was so beautiful. The next day we checked out and drove to a nearby lake. I loved being with Rob and Larz out in woods. I was so happy. We went to Christopher creek after that and wandered around. It was a perfect trip for us! We were all SO tired when we got home from running around everywhere.

Country Dancin
My best friend Julia is in town and when she's here my life is ten times more hilarious. She is seriously so much fun and she makes me laugh harder than anyone. She is getting her Masters next year. She has been in school since we graduated. And she also teaches at NAU. I can't believe I have such a smart friend! We go to this hole in the wall bar on Main street when she's down. ITs called Roosters. Its all these old cowboys and live music. We dress up, usually in boots but this time I didn't have any. WE have a blast! I danced with this really old guy last night and let me tell you, he could move. HE was twirling me in all directions and he made me look like a professional country dancer but I had no idea what I was doing. I laughed the entire time. I love my friends!

New Baby
I did a wedding over the weekend (Jason and Jessica) and I had SO much fun. They are the sweetest couple and they had the nicest guests there. I invited my friend Brian Clay to shadow me. He is way into photography. He did such a great job! Anyways. My dear friends Amber and Chad were there and also Phil and Heather Rogers. That girl can move I'll just say that. ha. At the end of the night I put my stuff away and danced my little heart out! While doing this all day, I kept having to switch my lenses to get the right angles. Its very frustrating when you have to move quick. Rob found an amazing sale on this camera (nikon D80) at circuit city. Its was almost half off. And the lens that it came with does what my other two lenses do in one! I love it so much! I haven't stopped playing with it since I got it. Here are a few pics from the wedding! :)

My weekend trip
My friend and her husband have 5 acres up by Alpine. They built a little cabin for themselves up there with eachother. Its not quite done yet but its perfect. The view is beyond belief. The mountain is covered in Pines and Aspin trees and its just a drive away. We had SO much fun. We did Yoga together in the morning and ran wild all day in the woods. We even threw our bras in the trees. Jen is such a good musician. She can improve whatever subject you give her. She was making us laugh so hard all weekend. It was her birthday too. It was amazing. If you want to see the pics click on the link or square. I'm not good at uploading these things.
